First Tuesday with Dr. Dent Gitchel

Dr. Gitchel is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and Licensed Associate Counselor, and is a faculty member at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He is the author of Pursuing Purpose: A Guide to Finding Meaning Through Meditation. He was one of the first persons certified as a teacher of Compassion Cultivation Training™ (CCT) through the Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education (CCARE) at Stanford University, in December 2013, and has been the teaching the curriculum steadily since then.

He has been selected three times as a Senior Investigator for the Mind and Life Summer Research Institute. He has presented talks and workshops on Mindfulness and Compassion at a wide variety of local, regional and national organizations. He served on the board of Compassion Works for All from 2015-2018. He is a member of the Dawn Mountain community and is also a student of Geshe Thupten Dorjee, and a member of the Episcopal Church.
