DBT is an evidence-based practice developed specifically for the treatment-resistant nature of Borderline Personality Disorder. This workshop will provide an overview of the 4 components of DBT:

We will discuss the chaos vs control dialectic and the biosocial model of Borderline Personality Disorder. Understanding this orientation helps clinicians have compassionate understanding of their clients while maintaining healthy boundaries. We will discuss the structure of individual sessions, use of phone coaching, and the importance of the consultation team. Practical skills from Emotion Regulation, Distress Tolerance, Interpersonal Effectiveness and Mindfulness will also be provided.

We'll break into small groups with several DBT experts to lead discussion and practice role playing DBT skills. On day two we'll process case examples and have question answer periods for some of your most challenging clinical situations.
